Overview

CineWall is a macOS app for using your own local videos as wallpapers. CineWall is designed to work without accounts, without cloud media syncing, and without invasive tracking.

What CineWall stores on your Mac

CineWall stores app settings and local state needed for playback, preferences, and feature access. If you activate Pro, the app stores your license key state locally. Depending on the build and feature being used, some secure local values may be stored in macOS Keychain.

What CineWall sends to the website services

When you start a trial, activate a Pro license, or use admin/dashboard-related services, CineWall may send a limited amount of technical metadata to CineWall’s backend services. This can include:

  • An app-generated install identifier
  • App version
  • macOS version
  • CPU architecture, such as Intel or Apple Silicon
  • A device name label used for license activation naming

This data is used only for trial status, license activation, update delivery, and lightweight product analytics.

Payments

CineWall does not directly process your card or payment details. Payments and license checkout are handled by a third-party payment provider. Their checkout flow and policies apply to payment processing.

Local media

Your wallpapers, videos, playlists, and local folders stay on your Mac unless you choose to share them yourself. CineWall does not upload your wallpaper library to CineWall servers.

Website analytics

The CineWall website may use standard hosting and web request logs for reliability, security, and basic usage monitoring. The app dashboard also records limited trial and activation events for internal product tracking.

Data retention

Trial and activation records may be retained for product operations, fraud prevention, and support. Technical analytics are intended to stay lightweight and focused on product health rather than personal profiling.

Your choices

You can stop using CineWall at any time and remove the app from your Mac. Local app data that remains on your system can usually be removed by deleting the app and related local settings.
